Rondina, Pons reign supreme in BVR on Tour with double-title finish

The pair of Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons proved they are one of the best in Philippine beach volleyball after ruling the second leg of Beach Volleyball Republic (BVR) on Tour in Sta. Ana, Cagayan.

Rondina and Pons of Creamline 1 bagged the title of BVR's second leg following a 21-13, 21-11 victory over Creamline 2's Dij Rodriguez and Dzi Gervacio on Sunday.  The pair also swept all 13 games of the two-leg bubble tournament.

They also won the first leg of the tour by getting past Good Health-CDO's Babylove Barbon and Gen Eslapor, 21-10, 21-16 last October 25.

The pair of Rondina and Pons is grateful for the tournament which served as a build-up for their upcoming stint in the Asian Senior Beach Volleyball Championship in Phuket, Thailand next month.

"Sobrang grateful sa pagkakaroon ng opportunity na makapaglaro dito. Tuloy kami sa goal namin," said Pons.

On the men's side, the duo of Krung Arbasto and Jude Garcia also won the second leg, 21-17, 21-16, against Tuguegarao's James Pecaña and AJ Pareja in the finals.
