Choco Mucho excited to face fellow PH team Rebisco in AVC classification round
Choco Mucho is excited to face another Philippine team—Rebisco—in an all-important classification round of the 2021 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship in Thailand.
The two squads tackle each other on October 6, Wednesday, in a game that will determine their respective finish in the tournament.
Mylene Paat, who had a solid performance in Choco Mucho's straight-sets loss to Supreme Chonburi in the quarterfinals on Monday, said they are looking forward to playing against a team that they know well.
Paat shared they tried their hardest to steal the win from powerhouse Supreme Chonburi in order to avoid a face-off with their fellow Philippine team.
"We really tried to push ourselves to win this match and avoid facing Rebisco, but then we really fell short,” said opposite hitter Mylene Paat, who contributed 14 points for Choco Mucho in the match.
"Still, I am really excited for the next match especially because it’s against a team that we’re familiar with and has the similar system with us."
Although Rebisco was able to steal a set in a four-set defeat against Iran's Saipa Tehran in the elimination round, both the Philippine bets have yet to win a single match in the contest.
The winner of the clash between Choco Mucho and Rebisco will face Kazakhstan’s Zhetysu for fifth place while the loser becomes settles for seventh place in the seven-team field.
