Supreme Chonburi advances to semis, Choco Mucho to face Rebisco in classification round

Thailand's Supreme Chonburi dispatched Team Choco Mucho of the Philippines, 25-13, 25-22, 25-21, on Monday in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship in Thailand.

After a dominant Set 1 win for Supreme, Mylene Paat and Kalei Mau led Choco Mucho with an early run in the second set, before the Thais pulled away with a late charge after trailing, 19-17, to eventually steal the set from the Filipinos. Paat and Mau combined for 15 of the team's 22 points in the set.

Supreme got hot in the early parts of Set 3, while Choco Mucho inched closer, 23-20, before the Thais sealed the deal.

Malika Kanthong led Thailand with 16 points while Wipawee Srithong and Pleumjit Thinkaow registered 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Mau finished with 16 points in the quarterfinals match while Paat had 14.

With the loss, Choco Mucho will face fellow winless Filipino team Rebisco in the classification match on Wednesday.
