Choco Mucho suffers back-to-back losses after defeat vs Zhetyssu

Choco Mucho continued its skid in the 2021 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship as their effort was not enough to turn back Zhetyssu of Kazakhstan, 25-22, 25-19, 25-15, on Saturday in Thailand.

The loss pushed Choco Mucho deep in the standings with a 0-2 win-loss card as it had already lost its opener against home team Nakhon Ratchasima on Friday.

The Philippine bets were in command in the opening set, even leading at 12-11 after a monster block from Ria Meneses. They went into the second technical timeout also leading at 16-15 after an attack by Tin Tiamzon.

They, however, crumbled in the final few points as Zhetysu took the first set, 25-21.

Zhetyssu continued to pour blocks against a smaller Choco Mucho side in the second and third sets as the Filipinas could not recover and drop their second straight game.

Later, Rebisco will try to salvage the Philippines team's contention in the tournament as it battles Supreme Chonburi at 4:30 p.m.
