Choco Mucho's strongest showing came in the second frame when they established a 19-17 lead capped by an attack from Ria Meneses but the Thais, who rank no. 19 in the world, were able to tie things up at 24 after a lifting violation by the the Filipinas.
A reception error by Del Palomata, however, proved costly for Choco Mucho as they surrendered the extended set, 26-28.
It was a tough game for the Philippine bets as Nakhon is bannered by Thailand national team's setter Nootsara Tomkom as well as former PVL import Kuttika Kaewpin, who steered Creamline to the 2018 Reinforced Conference title.
Choco Mucho was also missing two of its key players in Kim Kianna Dy and Majoy Baron who were both lent to the other Philippine team, Rebisco, with four players remaining in quarantine.
Choco Mucho will return to action on Saturday, October 2, against Zhetysu of Kazakhstan. Meanwhile, Rebisco will play Altay VC later tonight at 7:30 p.m.
