PVL down to 10 teams as F2 Logistics pulls out of Open Conference

The inaugural professional season of the Premier Volleyball League will now only feature 10 clubs.

This came after the star-studded F2 Logistics team on Friday announced that it is backing out from the tournament due to unforeseen circumstances like injuries and logistical issues that have prevented them from continuing with the bubble training.

The Cargo Movers management, meanwhile, stressed they will join in the next conference.

"With this, it is very difficult for the management upon consultation with our coaching team, to decide and announce that the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers will not be able to participate in the coming PVL Conference," the statement said.

"Please note, just this open conference not the whole season."

F2 previously saw action in the Philippine Superliga but jumped ship to PVL earlier this year. The powerhouse club features some of the country's volleyball stars like Kim Fajardo, Aby Maraño, Dawn Macandili, and Majoy Baron.

PVL is also eyeing to start the season on July 17 under a bubble set-up in Ilocos Norte.

In earlier reports, PVL president Ricky Palou revealed that the Unlimited Athletics Club (UAC) also opted not to field a team in this particular tourney, making it a 10-team field.
