Alyssa Valdez set to win 3rd straight MVP trophy
Alyssa Valdez is set to be named as the Most Valuable Player for the UAAP Women's Volleyball Tournament for the third straight season.
The superstar of Ateneo de Manila University will also bag the Best Scorer and Best Server trophies in the individual awarding ceremonies on Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena.
University of the Philippines' Isa Molde, meanwhile, will take home the Rookie of the Year honors.
Three players from De La Salle University also grabbed four special awards. Kim Fajardo will be hailed as the Best Setter, Mary Joy Baron as the Best Blocker, and libero Dawn Macandili as both the Best Digger and Best Receiver.
Jaja Santiago, National University's 6-foot-5 middle blocker, will be named as the Best Spiker.
Trophies will be awarded before the Game Two of the finals between Ateneo and La Salle. The Lady Spikers lead the series, 1-0, after sweeping the Lady Eagles on Saturday. —Marisse Panaligan/JST, GMA News
