Aurora inflicts first loss on Team Liquid, remains spotless in MPL PH Season 15

An old trick did wonders for Aurora Gaming as it kept its record spotless by repulsing erstwhile undefeated Team Liquid, 2-1, to sweep the first round of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines.
Aurora thus maintained a perfect record of 7-0 while giving Team Liquid its first taste of defeat to fall to 6-1.
And a familiar hero made the huge difference as Aurora's veteran roamer Renejay "Renejay" Barcase made a debut pick on Estes during the deciding Game 3. Estes, of course, was the signature hero of Blacklist International, whose core now banners Aurora.
Estes' arrival in Season 15 marked one year since the support hero was utilized in the MPL Philippine scene. Incidentally, the last one who used Estes was Blacklist International's roamer Kim "Kimpoy" Cruz against TNC.
Renejay ended up bagging the MVP honors after posting 15 assists against just one death in the 15-minute game.
Aurora then picked up where it left off the next day, sweeping Team Falcons, 2-0, to complete the sweep of the first part of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Team Liquid had two contrasting results this week after pulling off a 2-1 victory over TNC and bowing to Aurora to keep hold of the solo second spot. Team Falcons follow suit at third place with a 5-2 win-loss card.
Defending champion Onic Philippines took care of its assignments this week after defeating Smart Omega, 2-0, and turning back Twisted Minds, 2-1, to improve to 4-3 while TNC is at solo fifth at 3-4.
AP. Bren, Smart Omega, and Twisted Minds are at joint last spot with identical 1-6 records.
