Shinya Aoki submits Folayang anew at ONE 172

Shinya Aoki has put an exclamation mark on his rivalry with Eduard Folayang following another first-round submission in their fourth fight at ONE 172 on Sunday at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan.

Aoki, 41, shot early but Folayang was able to stop his initial takedown attempt. After a few seconds on their feet, Aoki dropped on his back to quickly put Folayang on an arm bar.

With nowhere to go and his arm trapped, Aoki forced a tap from Folayang at the 53-second mark of round one.

Now 3-1 against his fellow former ONE lightweight world champion, the Japanese mixed martial arts legend improved his record to 49-11 while Folayang dropped to 23-14.
