TNC continues rise, Team Liquid PH remains unscathed in Week 2 of MPL PH

MPL Philippines S15: TNC Pro Team

TNC Pro Team dazzled once more to continue its unexpected start in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 15, soaring to its third straight victory over the weekend.

The Phoenix Army, who have seen multiple eighth place finishes in the past five seasons, defeated Smart Omega and Twisted Minds to improve to 3-1 and strengthen its case as the dark horse of this edition.

Veteran roamer Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera proved his Philippine homecoming was a game-changer for TNC, bagging the MVP honors in Game 1 against Smart Omega by unleashing three kills and eight assists against one death on his Selena.

TNC then made quick work come Game 2 with jungler Justine "Zaida" Palma (Nolan) taking an uncontested lord at the 14th minute mark before gold laner Salvick "Kouzen" Tolarba unleashed a double kill en route to the sweep.

TNC picked up where it left off the next day, shrugging off a slow start before pulling off a 2-1 victory against new squad Twisted Minds to keep the latter winless through four games.

Zaida (Nolan) showcased a spotless KDA of 11/0/7 in Game 2 while Kouzen put together 10 kills and five assists on his Granger in the deciding Game 3.

Meanwhile, Team Liquid Philippines kept its hold of the top spot after dominating AP. Bren and Smart Omega and preserve its unbeaten run with a 4-0 card.

The Cavalry, who were looking to replicate its success two seasons ago when they ruled Season 13 altogether, first swept a young AP. Bren squad with a 2-0 win then eked out a 2-1 triumph against the struggling Smart Omega.

Team Falcons also went undefeated in Week 2 of action, denying defending MPL and world champion Onic Philippines, 2-1, and sweeping Twisted Minds, 2-0.

Against the reigning champions, Team Falcons overcame a Game 1 hiccup with gold laner Marco "Super Marco" Requitiano bagging both MVP honors in Game 1 and Game 2. He unloaded a flawless KDA with his 12 kills and four assists using Granger in Game 2 before practically displaying the same dominance in Game 3, pouring in 12 kills and nine assists against just one death on the same hero.

With Team Liquid PH still atop, Aurora Gaming maintains its second spot with a 3-0 record while Team Falcons and TNC are on a two-way logjam at third with identical 3-1 slates.

Onic is at solo fifth with 1-2 record while a win remained elusive for cellar dwellers Smart Omega (0-3), AP. Bren (0-3), and Twisted Minds (0-4).
