Mobile Legends, Honor of Kings to be featured in 2026 Asian Games


Filipino favorite multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) games Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Honor of Kings are headed to the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. 

The Olympic Council of Asia recently announced the 11 esports titles to be contested in the Games which included the two games that have been famous for Pinoy users. 

Aside from MLBB and HOK, Asian Games will also present as medal games the Pokemen Unite, League of Legends, PUBG Mobile: Asian Games Version, Identity V: Asian Games Version, Naraka: Baldepoint, Gran Turismo (7), Efootball Series, Puyo Puyo Champions, and Competitive Martial Arts (Street Fighters Series, Tekken, and King of Fighter). 

The Philippines is regarded as the most successful country in MLBB, having won five of the last six world championships from M2 to M6 while also emerging as the winningest nation in the Southeast Asian Games with three straight gold medals. 

Esports was first featured in the Asian Games in 2018, but only as a demonstration sports with Arena of Valor, Clash Royale, League of Legends, Pro Evolution Soccer, and StarCraft II. 

Esports then received a full medal status in the 2023 edition in China with Arena of Valor, ES Sports FC Online, Street Fighter, League of Legends, Dream Three Kingdoms 2, Peace Elite, and DOTA2.
