Joshua Pacio stops Jarred Brooks in trilogy in ONE 171

Joshua Pacio of Lions Nation MMA is now the undisputed ONE strawweight world champion following a second-round stoppage in his third fight against Jarred Brooks in the main event of ONE 171 on early Friday (Philippine time) at the Lusail Sports Arena in Qatar.

It did not take a minute before Brooks got the fight to the ground where he unleashed knees and attempted a choke on Pacio. They scrambled until the end of the round with the American trying several submission attempts.

The roles switched in round two, as Pacio got the top position where he rained down punches that had Brooks hurt. Unable to defend himself from the barrage of punches, the referee stepped in and waved the contest at the 4:22 mark of the stanza earning Pacio a technical knockout win.

The win also saw the 29-year-old Pacio receive a $50,000 performance bonus as he improved his professional mixed martial arts record to 23-4.
