PH clinches historic ticket to 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship

The Philippines remained unbeaten in the 2025 Asia-Pacific Women’s Lacrosse Championship at the Sunshine Coast Stadium in Queensland after a 2-0 slate so far, which is enough to seal its spot in the 2026 World Championship.

This will be the first time that the Filipinas are advancing to the world tournament as they look to put the country on the global map. The Philippines is also assured of a semifinals spot after impressing in its first two games.

The Filipinas opened their campaign with a commanding 15-3 victory over China behind four goals each from Kalens Johnson and Steph Lazo.

They then picked up where they left off and eked out a 14-2 win over Hong Kong, joining Japan, Chinese Taipei, and Australia as the first few teams to qualify to the world championship to be held in Japan next year.

The Philippines will close out the pool stage against Australia on Wednesday before competing in the semifinals set on Friday.
