La Salle's dominance highlights banner year for CCE
Lasallians imposed their will both on the local and international scenes to highlight what turned out to be a banner year for the Collegiate Center for Esports in the past 2024.
De La Salle University’s Viridis Arcus first reigned supreme in the CCE Season 4 MLBB tournament by sweeping TFX Nireus of Far Eastern University in the grand finals, 3-0.
They went on representing the country during the Campus Legends MLBB tournament during the Singapore Game Fest last October, eking out a perfect run that was capped off with a 2-0 triumph over home team Institute of Technical Education from Singapore in the finals.
De La Salle University – Dasmariñas' Jed James “Bobps3” Soriano, meanwhile, won silver in the Street Fighter 6 of the same tournament, bringing home SGD600 in cash and scholarship.
Aside from La Salle, Systems Plus College Foundation also took home a title after Panthera Esports pulled off a 3-1 win over NU Bulldogs during the National League Finals of the MLBB PCC Season 2.
The Mapua Cardinals, on the other hand, took down SAGE Ultimate of the University of San Agustin - Iloilo, 3-0, to rule the Call of Duty: Mobile tournament.
“Itong success ng ating mga programa sa CCE, pati na rin yung ganda ng staging ng ating mga Campus Playfest at National League Finals ng PCC ay nagpapakita lamang ng kagustuhan natin mapaunlad and collegiate esports natin sa Pilipinas,” said CCE president Stanley Lao.
“Nakikita natin na ang ating mga students ay talagang may talent at kaya mag-compete internationally at through CCE and PCC, nabibigyan natin sila ng opportunity mag-shine."
