Alex Eala falls to China's Wei in Canberra International semis

Filipina tennis ace Alex Eala fell to China's Sijia Wei in the semis of the WTA Canberra International, 7-5, 6-2, on Friday in Canberra, Australia.

Prior to this, Eala defeated Australia's Taylah Preston, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, in the quarterfinals, the Netherlands' Arianne Hartono, 6-3, 6-3, in the Round of 16, and Austria's Sinja Kraus in the Round of 32.

The WTA 125 tilt, which began in December with the qualifying rounds, will wrap up Eala's 2024 tournaments. where she won one singles title and three doubles titles.
