Blacklist International rules qualifying tilt for Honor of Kings Invitational Season 3
Blacklist International thumped fellow Philippine team Elevate with a dominant 4-1 win to reign supreme in the local qualifier for the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 3 on Saturday.
Blacklist International now gets to banner the country in the main event set in February in the Philippines while Elevate and another Filipino club Rough World Era have also punched their tickets to the main tournament.
It was a smooth run for Blacklist International, pulling off identical 2-0 victories over Revamp and BOOM Esports to advance to the upper bracket finals, where it outlasted Elevate by eking out a tight 3-2 decision to seal its spot in the grand finals.
Elevate, on the other hand, restored order despite moving on cusp of elimination as it escaped Rough World Era in the lower bracket finals to arrange a rematch with Blacklist.
Blacklist International now has the chance to redeem itself after an early exit from the recent Honor of Kings Championship last October in Indonesia. Back then, Blacklist absorbed a 0-3 defeat at the hands of Nova Esports during their lower bracket quarterfinals encounter.
The main tournament will run from February 21 to March 1 here.
