Honor of Kings professional league set for launch in the Philippines
Filipino professional esports players will get to showcase their skill on the local scene as Honor of Kings is set to formally launch a league in the country next year.
In a recent development, HoK announced that the newly-established pro league will feature two seasons with the Spring and Fall editions.
The Spring commences in April 2025 and will run for two months until June while the Fall Season will take place from August through October following the Midseason Invitational in July and before the Championship in November.
The expansion in the Philippines is part of HoK's effort to introduce the title on a global scale and further widen its presence in the country.
Aside from the Philippines, HoK will also hold professional leagues in Southeast Asian counties Malaysia and Indonesia while also staging the Major East, Major West, The Wild Card Series and CHOKBR in Brazil.
The Philippines recently participated in a number of international HoK events, the recent one being the 2024 Honor of Kings Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia where Blacklist International and BOOM Esports bannered the country.
Both teams, however, fell short with Blacklist absorbing a 0-3 loss in the lower bracket quarterfinals while BOOM had an early exit after a 1-3 defeat both at the hands of the Nova Esports.
