Blacklist International remains as lone PH bet in Honor of Kings Championship as BOOM Esports bows out

Blacklist International remains as the lone Philippine bet in the 2024 Honor of Kings Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia as compatriot BOOM Esports exited the global tournament early.

Blacklist International, though, will have a tough road ahead of it after falling to the lower bracket where it has to surpass three more opponents in order to reach the grand finals set on Sunday.

Blacklist International, which recorded a 2-1 win-loss card in the group stages, had a stellar start to its playoffs run after pulling off a gutsy 3-2 upset victory over Malaysia's Team Secret during their best-of-five quarterfinals affair last Friday.

However, Blacklist failed to sustain the momentum in the next round, absorbing a disappointing 3-0 loss to hometown bet Dominator Esports of Indonesia in the upper bracket semifinals. The defeat sent them to the lower bracket, where it will be pitted against Nova Esports of Malaysia this Friday in a knockout series.

BOOM Esports, which represented the country during the HoK Invitationals last July, fell to Fearless Esports in the quarterfinals, 1-3, then formally bombed out of the tournament after sustaining another 1-3 loss to Nova Esports in the lower bracket.
