Team Asia wins inaugural Reyes Cup title

Team Asia claimed victory in the inaugural Reyes Cup as it defeated Team Europe, 11-6, in the tournament which capped on Friday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Singaporean Aloysius Yapp was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

Team Asia is composed of Yapp, Johann Chua and Carlo Biado of the Philippines, Duong Quoc Hoang of Vietnam, Ko Pin Yi of Taiwan, and led by captain and billiard icon Efren 'Bata' Reyes.

"They played good and we [are] lucky," Reyes said in an interview.

"It's a priceless moment for me, not only for me but I do believe for all of us to be able to be a part of Reyes Cup with champ Efren still here with us. We're really proud of this one," Chua added.
