Tachiana Mangin wins PHL's first gold in 2024 World Taekwondo Junior Championships

Tachiana Mangin won the country's first gold in the 2024 World Taekwondo Junior Championships in Chuncheon, South Korea.

Mangin defeated local bet Hyanggi Kim in the deciding round of the women's 49kg finals, 7-6, to take home the gold. 

Prior to the decider, Mangin won the first round, 14-8, while Kim won the second, 4-3.

The Filipino jin got a walkover in the semis as her opponent Lamprini Anna Asimaki of Greece withdrew due to injury.
