Cendy Asusano registers personal best, finishes 4th in Paralympics women's javelin throw

Para athlete Cendy Asusano fell short of a podium finish as she placed fourth in the women's javelin throw - F54 event on Saturday in the 2024 Paris Paralympics.

Asusano had her best record at 15.05 meters which also became her personal best.

Uzbekistan's Nurkhon Kurbanova posted a world record at 21.12 to win the gold, while Flora Ugwunwa of Nigeria had 19.26. Iran's Elham Salehi bagged the bronze with 16.24 meters.

With her fourth place finish, Asusano was named as the flag bearer of the Philippines in the closing ceremony of the Paris Para Games.

The Philippines has also concluded its campaign in the Paris Para Games.
