EJ Obiena talks about good relationship with Duplantis, fellow pole vaulters

They may be competitors on the field, but EJ Obiena said he is in good terms with his fellow pole vaulters such as the likes of Mondo Duplantis and Emmanouil Karalis.

"Lahat po sila mabait." Obiena said in "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" on Wednesday.

Obiena even recalled one time Duplantis was worried about his performance.

"From time to time, lalo na nung qualification po, nung last attempt ko na, nilapitan ako ni Mondo afterwards sabi niya 'You made us all worry.'

"Sabi ko, "Sorry, my stall was tumbling," he said.

Back in the 2024 Paris Olympics, Duplantis set a new record en route to the gold medal. Obiena, meanwhile, finished fourth.
