Para archer Agustina Bantiloc falls short vs Brazilian foe, ends Paralympics campaign
Para archer Agustina Bantiloc fell short against Brazilian foe Jane Karla Gogel, 143-127, on Friday in the 1/16 elimination round of the women's individual compound open event to end her campaign in the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
It was a tight affair after the first two ends as Bantiloc only trailed 58-53. However, Gogel had two 10's in the third end to get 87, while Bantiloc only had 77. Gogel had the momentum until the fifth end as Bantiloc had a 6 in the third arrow to tally 23 against the former's 27.

Gogel will advance to the 1/8 elimination round against China's Jiamin Zhou.
Prior to this, Bantiloc posted a season best 618 points as she finished 28th in the ranking round.
This afternoon, wheelchair racer Jerrold Mangliwan will commence his campaign in the heats round of the men's 400m-T52 event.
