Vanessa Sarno ends Paris Olympics campaign

Weightlifter Vanessa Sarno on Saturday bowed out early at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Sarno made her debut in the Summer Games at the women's 71kg event and attempted to lift 100kg for snatch, but was unable to do so in her three attempts to register a DNF (Did Not Finish).

This also capped Philippine weightlifting's campaign in the Olympics after John Ceniza's DNF in the men's 61kg event, and Elreen Ando's 6th place-finish in the women's 59kg event.

The Philippines has two golds from gymnast Carlos Yulo and two bronze medals from boxers Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas. Only golfers Bianca Pagdanganan and Dottie Ardina remain in competition for the country.
