Golfers Bianca Pagdanganan, Dottie Ardina continue quest; Elreen Ando returns to weightlifting stage in Paris Olympics

Golfers Bianca Pagdanganan and Dottie Ardina will continue their quest in the 2024 Paris Olympics in Day 2 of the women's golf individual stroke event on Thursday.

Pagdanganan carded an even-par 72 to place T13 at the end of Day 1, while Ardina was at T40 with 76.

Meanwhile, Elreen Ando will make her return to the weightlifting tournament of the Olympics as she competes in the women's 71kg.

Three years ago, Ando competed in the 64kg weight class but finished outside of the podium.

Ando's weightlifting event will be held at 9 p.m. tonight.

Earlier, Nesthy Petecio settled for a bronze medal as she fell short against Poland's Julia Szeremeta.

The Philippines currently has four Olympic medals in the Games following two from gymnast Carlos Yulo and another bronze from boxer Aira Villegas.

Aside from Pagdanganan, Ardina, and Ando, only weightlifter Vanessa Sarno has yet to commence her campaign in Paris.
