EJ Obiena and Emmanouil Karalis share moment in Olympic pole vault finals

Filipino pole vaulter EJ Obiena and Greece's Emmanouil Karalis shared a moment during the 2024 Paris Olympics men's pole vault finals.

The two were seen hugging each other on the tracks of Stade de France.

Karalis eventually claimed the bronze medal as Obiena fell just short of a podium finish, with both athletes having 5.90 as their final clearances.

However, Obiena was earlier eliminated as he failed his three attempts at 5.95 meters. Karalis also had all his jumps until the 5.90 mark in just one attempt, while Obiena missed his first attempt at 5.80.

World no. 1 Armand Duplantis won the gold with 6.25, while American Sam Kendricks claimed silver at 5.95.
