Marcos congratulates Carlos Yulo for winning second Olympic gold medal

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. on Monday congratulated Philippine gymnast Carlos Yulo for winning his second Olympic gold medal.

Yulo ruled the men's vault finals on Sunday at the 2024 Paris Olympics to take home another gold medal from the Summer Games.

"No words can express how proud we are of you, Caloy.  You have achieved gold for the Philippines not once, but twice," the caption of his social media post read.

"Filipinos all over the world stood united, cheering and rooting for you.

"Aming ipinagmamalaki ang tagumpay mong nagniningning! Saludo kami sa iyo!"

On Saturday, Marcos also congratulated Yulo for his gold medal in the men's floor exercise.

"I am confident that it will not be the last," his previous post said.

The Philippines is now assured of at least four Olympic medals as boxers Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas also guaranteed the country medals from boxing with their respective semifinals appearances.
