Carlos Yulo's golden weekend at the 2024 Paris Olympics

Carlos Yulo just had a very memorable weekend in Paris.

On Saturday, Yulo got his first Olympic gold medal after ruling the men's floor exercise. This was his first Olympic gold medal and the Philippines' first from the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympics.

Just around 24 hours later, Yulo then again competed in the vault finals where he topped again the tourney en route to his second Olympic gold medal.

In a span of two days, Yulo already doubled the country's medal count at the ongoing Summer Games and hiked the country's Olympic gold to three overall after Hidilyn Diaz won the first back in Tokyo three years ago.

The country's campaign, however, is not yet over as boxers Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas are already assured of their respective Olympic medals as they reached their respective weight class' semifinals.

World no. 2 pole vaulter EJ Obiena will still compete in the finals on early Tuesday, while hurdlers John Cabang Tolentino and Lauren Hoffman were relegated to repechage.

Golf and weightlifting athletes from the country will also start their respective campaigns in the coming days.
