Maxine Esteban falls to French foe, exits Olympic fencing

Former Philippine fencer Maxine Esteban, who now represents Cote d'Ivoire, ended her run in the 2024 Paris Olympics on Sunday as she fell to France's Pauline Ranvier.

Esteban earned a first-round bye which allowed her to compete directly in the Table of 32.

However, the world no. 27 Esteban fell to world no. 15 Ranvier, 15-7.

Esteban switched federations in 2023.
