Carlos Yulo advances to Olympic gymnastics vault finals

Carlos Yulo advanced to the finals of the vault apparatus of the 2024 Paris Olympics gymnastics tournament.

The Paris Olympics website on Sunday confirmed Yulo to be among those qualified for the apparatus finals.

The Filipino gymnast averaged 14.683 in vault during the qualifiers to finish sixth.

Only eight gymnasts will advance to the finals.

Back in Tokyo three years ago, Yulo also advanced to the vault finals, but fell just short of a podium finish.

He was also a gold medalist for the said apparatus in the 2021 World Championships.

Yulo will have a chance for a medal in the vault finals on August 4.

The Filipino gymnast will also advance to the floor exercise and all-around finals.
