Smart Omega Empress ends Team Vitality's dynasty to rule MWI 2024

The new queens have arrived.

Smart Omega Empress dethroned defending champion Team Vitality with a dominant 3-0 win in the grand finals of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women's Invitational 2024 on early Sunday (Philippine time) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Philippine bets unseated Indonesia's Team Vitality, who was formerly known as the Bigetron Era that had ruled the previous two editions of MWI in 2022 and 2023. Those two editions also saw Smart Omega fall short as they absorbed a quarterfinals and semifinals exits, respectively.

Now, they are world champions.

They did so by kicking things off the right way, making quick work of the Indonesian club in Game 1, which they wrapped up in just 12 minutes with the Filipinas needing just three turtles and one lord to draw first blood.

Smart Omega basically repeated that fast-paced performance in Game 2 as gold laner Sheen "SHINOA" Perez (Melissa ) unleashing two of their 10 kills alongside five assists, steering the squad to the match point at 2-0.

However, things got heated in Game 3, where Team Vitality displayed a massive defensive scheme after Smart Omega Empress secured the first two lords.

Jungler Kaye Maerylle "Keishi" Alpuerto, though, picked off two Team Vitality players using her Hayabusa, setting the stage for the rest of the crew to push to the base and bag the crown.
