Eduard Folayang named Sports Personality of the Year by IAWPA

Former ONE lightweight world champion Eduard Folayang will be honored with the 2024 Sports Personality of the Year by the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA).

IAWPA Philippines and UN Eminent Peace Ambassador Dr. Maxwell A. Hagan announced earlier this week that Folayang has been selected to receive the award at the upcoming IAWPA Global Awards ceremony on July 20 at Hotel Supreme in Baguio.

"Receiving this award is a tremendous honor. It underscores the importance of perseverance and dedication in achieving one's dreams," Folayang stated.

"I am deeply grateful for this recognition, and I share it with my team, my family, and all who have supported me throughout my career."

Touted as the face of Philippine MMA, Folayang is the chairman and co-founder of Lions Nation MMA which was established in 2023. 23-13 as a mixed martial artist, Folayang last saw action in September 2023 when he knocked out Amir Khan in round three.
