Alex Eala moves a win away from Wimbledon main draw

Filipina tennis ace Alex Eala moved a win away from the main draw of Wimbledon as she won in the second round of the qualifying draw of the Grand Slam tournament on Wednesday (London time).

World no. 162 Eala defeated world no. 110 Tamara Zidansek of Slovenia, 1-6, 7(11)-6(9), 6-3 in the second round.

The win came as the 19-year old Filipina opened her Wimbledon qualifying campaign also with a victory against Jessica Ponchet of France.

Eala will face world no. 123 Lulu Sun of New Zealand in the next round.
