PHL athletes arrive in France for training camp ahead of Paris Olympics

Some of the Filipino athletes who have qualified to the Paris Olympics arrived in France on Sunday (Philippine time) for their one-month training camp.

The Philippine Olympic Committee shared the development on its social media page.

The delegation left Manila on early Saturday morning. 

Athletes who flew to Metz were flag bearers Nesthy Petecio and Carlo Paalam, fellow boxers Hergie Bacyadan and Aira Villegas, weightlifters Elreen Ando, John Ceniza, and Vanessa Sarno, and rower Joanie Delgaco.

POC president Abraham 'Bambol' Tolentino and Paris Olympics chef de mission Jonvic Remulla also joined the delegation.

At least 15 athletes from the Philippines have qualified to the Paris Games and more are expected as the Olympics nears.

The Summer Games will open on July 26.
