EJ Obiena registers season best to rule Polish tiff

Filipino Olympian and pole vaulter EJ Obiena ruled the 6th Irena Szewi?ska Memorial on Friday (Philippine time) in Poland.

Obiena cleared 5.97 meters, his season-best, to top the event.

The Asian record holder also tried to clear 6.02 meters but fell short in his attempt.

Obiena, in an Instagram post, said he will return to action for another tournament on the 23rd.

Prior to this, the Philippine bet missed the podium in Sweden .

Obiena is among the list of Filipinos headed to Paris for the Olympics .
