Kairi, Yeb extend Onic dynasty in MPL Indonesia; Arcadia steers Selangor to crown in MPL Malaysia

Filipino imports continued to dominate the international scene after several Pinoy bets captured titles in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) in both Indonesia and Malaysia.

Multi-titled jungler Kairi "Kairi" Rayosdelsol and head coach Denver "Yeb" Miranda steered Fnatic Onic to its historic fourth straight title and sixth overall crown after they conquered EVOS, 4-2, to rule MPL Indonesia Season 13.

After falling short of the top seed by the end of the elimination round with an 11-5 win-loss record behind Bigetron Alpha, Onic went on a rampage in the playoffs, pulling off a 3-2 win against Geek Fam in the upper semifinals.

They then advanced to the UB finals where they made quick work of EVOS, 3-0, to punch a grand finals berth.

However, the powerhouse club was met with bumps on the road, losing back-to-back games in the best-of-seven series after opening it with an impressive 3-0 start to clinch the championship point right away.

Kairi (Baxia) single-handedly slayed the lord in the 10:48 mark of Game 6 with Onic already taking down five turrets from the side of EVOS, but the latter was able to stage a massive defense to stay alive.

Kairi then secured the second lord, but EVOS would defend the base anew. A triple kill from exp laner Lutpi "Lutpiii" Ardianto (Cici) highlighted the final team clash that allowed them to seal the deal.

Calvin "CW" Winata ended up bagging the Finals MVP plum.

Over in Malaysia, another Pinoy made waves as Michael "Arcadia" Bocado guided the Selangor Red Giants to an undefeated run en route to clinching the MPL Season 13 crown.

The Red Giants eked out a similar 4-2 victory against HomeBois, punctuating a dominant campaign all throughout the tournament that saw them sweep the elimination round with an impressive 9-0 slate before also defeating King Empire and RSG Malaysia in the upper bracket semifinals and finals, respectively.

Aside from Arcadia, the Red Giants also paraded two Filipino players with Mark "Kramm" Rusiana and John "Innocent" Banal serving as their exp laner and gold laner.

With the wins, both Onic and Selangor will see action in the upcoming Mid-Season Cup (MSC) where both Team Liquid Echo and Falcons AP.Bren will represent the Philippines.
