MPL PH: Yawi parts ways with Echo
Decorated roamer Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera has parted ways with Echo, marking an end of an era in the local Mobile Legends: Bang Bang scene.
"Thank you for being loud and proud with us, Yawi Esports! Your contributions will surely resonate with the Orcas throughout history, and your presence will truly be missed," the team said in a post on Monday.
"Good luck on your further adventures! You are a true legend."
Yawi, who was previously part of Nexplay EVOS, joined Echo in late 2021 for MPL Philippines Season 9 and formed a deadly team with fellow stars like Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno and Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales.
After they shrugged off their early struggles, the Orcas eventually found their form and went on ruling the M4 World Championship before reigning supreme in MPL Philippines Season 11 both against Blacklist International.
They then finished at third spot in the 2023 MLBB Southeast Asia Cup (now Mid-Season Cup) after winning against Cambodia's Burn X Flash in their battle for bronze.
But in the MPL Season 12, Yawi rode the bench for almost the entire tournament as Echo failed to defend its crown after falling to Blacklist in their lower bracket finals encounter.
The 22-year-old pro player has yet to reveal his next moves.
