Alex Eala wins first pro doubles title in India

Alex Eala and her Latvian partner Darja Semenistaja won the women's doubles title of the W50 tournament in Pune, India on Saturday.

Eala and Semenistaja defeated Naiktha Bains of Great Britain and Fanny Stollar of Hungary, 7-6(8), 6-3 in the finals.

This is Eala's first professional doubles title.

Prior to this, the duo beat the Japanese pair of Saki Imamura and Naho Sato in the semifinals, and the pair of Jessie Aney (USA) and Lena Papadakis (Germany) in the quarters.

In the singles division, Eala made a quarterfinals exit on Friday as she fell to Semenistaja, 7-6(6), 6-0.
