Bren, Onic to dispute first M5 Grand Finals spot in upper bracket finals

M5 World Championship AP Bren Mobile Legends Esports

It will be the battle of champions as AP Bren and Onic Esports sank their respective foes to the lower bracket to arrange an upper bracket finals duel with the first M5 World Championship grand finals ticket at stake on Tuesday at the EVM Convention Center.

Bren, the MPL Philippines Season 12 champion, carved out a 3-1 win in its best-of-five series against another Indonesian representative in Geek Fam to advance to the next round where it will be pitted against MPL Indonesia champion Onic, which swept Deus Vult of Germany, 3-0, to likewise move forward.

Roamer Rowgien "Owgwen" Unigo (Mathilda) unleashed an unblemished KDA in their hard-fought Game 1 victory before a backdoor play from Geek Fam's exp laner Luke "Luke" Valentinus (Khaleed) in the 19th minute evened the series to one game apiece.

A double kill by veteran midlaner Angelo "Pheww" Arcangel (Faramis) and Michael "KyleTzy" Sayson (Fredrinn) instigated a total wipeout late in Game 3 which eventually led to a tower lock as they secured the match point.

Gold laner Marco "Super Marco" Requitiano (Brody) took down the third lord before Bren unleashed another wipeout as they needed just 16 minutes to finish off Geek Fam, which is bannered by two Filipinos in Allen "Baloyskie" Baloy and Marky "Markyyy" Capacio.

Bren and Onic will tangel in another best-of-five series in the upper bracket on December 16 while Geek Fam and Deus Vult will take on Blacklist International and Cambodia's See You Soon in the lower bracket, respectively.
