AP Bren overcomes slow start vs. Team Flash to remain unbeaten in M5
AP Bren staged a Game 1 comeback before completing a 2-0 victory against Singapore's Team Flash and remained unbeaten in the M5 World Championship on Wednesday at the EVM Convention Center.
The Philippine representative grabbed the solo lead of Group C with a 2-0 win-loss slate while Team Flash dropped to 1-2.
Bren bucked a slow start in the series opener, overcoming an aggressive Team Flash that already secured two lords and took down all but one of the Philippine bet's turrets within the first 16 minutes of clash. But Bren took advantage of an undermanned Team Flash in the final minutes with Michael "KyleTzy" Sayson taking down the lord in the 18:25 mark.
They then wiped out Team Flash en route to a 1-0 series lead. Marco "Super Marco" Requitiano (Claude) led the way with five kills and one assist while also listing a 67 percent kill participation.
But unlike in Game 1, Bren made sure to make quick work of Team Flash in Game 2, needing just 14 minutes to finish off the opponents and cruised to another sweep in the global tournament after pulling off the same feat against Burmese Ghouls last Saturday.
Super Marco once again starred as he collected three kills on his Bruno to lead a 4-0 kill spread.
Bren will take on Team Lilgun on Thursday in bid to complete a sweep of the group stage.
