Carlos Alvarez of Team Lakay suffered his first defeat as a professional following a second-round technical knockout at the hands of Nachyn Sat on the undercard of ONE Friday Fights 43 this Friday evening at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.

Both fighters opened the bout throwing leg kicks and combinations. Halfway through the round, Alvarez got caught with a big left uppercut that had him in trouble. An accidental knee below the belt from Sat gave Alvarez ample time to recover, and as soon as the fight resumed, the fighters went back at it throwing strikes.

Both fighters exchanged mount positions in round two. Another round of a back-and-forth exchange ensued and it was Sat's gas tank and resilience prevailed.

On his feet but hurt on the ropes, Sat threw a barrage of unanswered punches that prompted the referee to halt the contest.

The technical knockout loss was Alvarez's first defeat as a professional, dropping his record to 4-1 while Sat improved to 3-2.

Dave Bangguigui, meanwhile, suffered his second straight defeat against Japan's Ryosuke Honda. Honda was the aggressor throughout the bout, mixing up his strikes and ground game en route to a unanimous decision nod.
