Bren routs Blacklist to capture MPL Philippines Season 12 crown
Indeed, 'Bren Lang Malakas'.
AP Bren completed its magical run in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 12 after taking down Blacklist International, 4-1, to capture the title on Sunday at the EVM Convention Center.
Bren, which finished second after the regular season, will now head to the M5 World Championship as the newly-crowned MPL Philippines champion while Blacklist will finish as runner-up for the second straight time.
It was a dominant AP Bren in Game 1 and Game 2 with roamer Rowgien "Owgwen" Unigo anchoring their lopsided 14-2 win in the second game after unleashing three kills and 11 assists on his Mathilda as they took a commanding 2-0 lead.
However, the Codebreakers retaliated in Game 3 as Salic "Hadji" Imam was injected back in the game after being replaced by Kenneth "Yue" Tadeo in the past matches. He dropped a perfect 2/0/6 KDA on Faramis while gold laner Kiel "Oheb" Soriano (Ixia) accounted for 11 of their 13 kills.
Exp laner David "FlapTzy" Canon's two kills and three assists on Arlott proved crucial as AP Bren cruised to the match point via a 7-2 Game 4 victory.
An energized Blacklist took the first three lords in Game 5 before Michael "Kyle" Sayson (Martis) won the fourth lord fight at the 20:45 mark en route to the championship.
