Jerrold Mangliwan wins PHL's 5th gold in Asian Para Games
The Philippines on Friday won one more gold medal in the 4th Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China, thanks to Jerrold Mangliwan of para athletics.
Mangliwan on Friday recorded a new personal best of 1:01.54 to reign supreme in the men's 400m-T52 event and claim the country's fifth gold in the Para Games.
Japan bagged the silver and bronze medals, with Hirokazu Ueyonabaru placing second with 1:01.79 and Tatsuya Ito finishing third with 1:04.96.
This is Mangliwan's second medal in the Para Games as he also claimed a silver medal in the men's 100m-T52 event.
As of writing, the Philippines has a total of 13 medals, with five golds, three silvers, and five bronzes.
