Joshua Pacio gives Malachiev his first defeat at ONE Fight Night 15

Former ONE strawweight world champion Joshua Pacio of Lions Nation MMA gave Mansur Malachiev his first defeat following a unanimous decision nod on the undercard of ONE Fight Night 15 this Saturday morning at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.

Pacio opened the contest with jabs and leg kicks that caught Malachiev's attention. Malachiev was limping and bleeding below his left eye halfway through the round but was still able to get a takedown before the stanza ended.

Both fighters exchanged strikes in the opening seconds of round two. The fight eventually went to the mat again where Malachiev grinded away with punches to the head and body.

Malachiev scored an early takedown in round three where Pacio nearly finished his foe with a choke before being asked by the referee to fight on their feet due to lack of action. Moments later, they went back to the ground where Pacio tried another guillotine choke.

All three judges saw the fight for Pacio after three five-minute rounds, improving his professional mixed martial arts record to 21-4 while Malachiev took his first loss and fell to 11-1.
