Philippines cops first sepak takraw medal in Asian Games

The sepak takraw team bagged a bronze medal, its first for the Philippines in the Asian Games, after falling to Indonesia, 15-21, 25-24, 21-17, in the semifinals of the men's quadrant event on Tuesday in China.
The team is composed of Jason Huerte, Mark Joseph Gonzales, Rheyjay Ortouste, Ron Gabayeron, Jom Rafael, and Vince Torno.
Earlier, the Philippines defeated Singapore, 21-8, 21-15, to advance to the semis.
This is the country's 11th medal in the Asiad this year after a gold from EJ Obiena, silver from wushu's Arnel Mandal, and eight other bronze medals.
