Patrick Coo claims BMX bronze in Asian Games 2023

Patrick Coo claimed a bronze medal for the Philippines in cycling's BMX racing in the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China on Sunday.

Coo clocked in 39.076 seconds to finish third behind Japan's Asuma Nakai (37.542) and Komet Sukprasert (38.478) who claimed the gold and silver medals, respectively.

“I’m very happy but hurting for sure,” said Coo who scraped the upper part of his right thigh after crashing in the first moto. “I ripped my pants in the process and got it fixed immediately.”

Fellow Filipino Daniel Caluag finished sixth in the finals.

This is the Philippines' ninth medal in the Asiad after a gold from EJ Obiena in pole vault, silver from wushu's Arnel Mandal, and seven bronzes, including Coo's.
