Philippines claims first silver, two bronzes from wushu in Asian Games 2023

Wushu athletes added three more medals to the Philippines' haul in the ongoing 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

Arnel Mandal claimed the country's first Asiad silver from the sanda men's 56kg event after falling to China's Jiang Haidong in the finals on Thursday.

Gideon Padua bagged the bronze medal in the sanda men's 60kg event after Iran's Panahigelehkolaei Shoja won in the semifinals, while Clemente Tagubara, Jr. copped the bronze in the sanda men's 65kg semis following his loss to Indonesia's Samuel Marbun.

The Philippines currently has one silver and four bronze medals in the 2023 edition of the continental tourney.
