Robyn Brown wins gold in Asian Athletics Championships 400m hurdles

Philippine representative Robyn Brown on Saturday won the country's first gold medal in the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships in Bangkok, Thailand.

Brown ruled the women's 400-meter hurdles after clocking 57.50 seconds, with Japan delegates Eri Utsonomiya (57.73) and Ami Yamamoto (57.80) finishing second and third, respectively.

Brown bagged the silver medal for the said event during the 2023 Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.

Meanwhile, Asian record holder EJ Obiena is slated to defend his gold medal from the 2019 edition as he competes in the pole vault tournament on Sunday. Obiena holds the meet record from 2019 at 5.71 meters.
