Philippines' James Aranas, Johann Chua rule 2023 World Cup of Pool

After 10 years, the Philippines is once again the champion in the World Cup of Pool.

The duo of James Aranas and Johann Chua ruled the 2023 World Cup of Pool after defeating the German pair of Joshua Filler and Moritz Neuhausen, 11-7, in the finals on Sunday in Spain.

Prior to Germany, the Philippines won against Austria, 9-8, in the semifinals, and Chinese Taipei, 9-8, in the quarterfinals.

The Philippines last won the tournament in 2013 as represented by Dennis Orcollo and Lee Vann Corteza.

This is the Philippines fourth trophy in the World Cup of Pool with the first two back in 2006 and 2009, both represented by Efren 'Bata' Reyes and Django Bustamante. —Justin Kenneth Carandang/KBK, GMA Integrated News
