Aleah Finnegan joins Carlos Yulo in gymnastics worlds
Carlos Yulo will not be the only Philippine representative to the World Gymnastics Championships as Aleah Finnegan joins him in the tournament set in September in Belgium.
The Filipino-American Finnegan clinched her berth in the worlds after placing seventh overall in the women's individual all-around on Friday in the Asian Gymnastics Championships in Singapore with a score of 50.399.
Finnegan, who was a gold medalist in the 2021 Southeast Asian Games, will also advance to the finals of vault, beam, and floor of the regional event.
The top eight finishers in each apparatus, with a maximum of two per federation, will advance to the finals to be held on Saturday.
Emma Malabuyo will also proceed to the floor finals as she finished fifth in the said event.
Yulo will also compete in the finals on Saturday in several events, including his pet event floor exercise.
